Blisters on Feet From New Shoes - Image Consultant Advice.new style update
BLISTERS ON FEET
This article explains why blisters can form after you wear new shoes. It then tells how to minimize this problem and treat the blisters.
DRESS SHOES
Leather shoes, when new, can cause blisters. You can get a blister on your heel, for instance, when the leather rubs the skin, separating it from underlying structures. Your dress shoes may look good, but they may be too tight or too new and unyielding, which can cause blisters.
You can break your new shoes in by wearing them only every few days, instead of every day. Also, put shoe trees into them, to stretch the leather. You should also pound the leather of the heel with a hammer (after covering the shoe with a towel), which will break it in and soften it.
THE IMPORTANCE OF SOCKS
Many women avoid socks because they're under the impression that their feet look better without them. This is an arguable point. In most cases, socks will look just as good as bare feet. Socks have the added advantage of helping to prevent blisters. So as an image consultant, we advise clients to always wear socks or stockings.
HOW TO TREAT BLISTERS
Blisters need to heal without being broken. So try your best not to break the skin. In other words, don't drain a blister. The plasma that accumulates in a blister is helpful in repairing the damage.
Two topical treatments that are recommended are vitamin E, which helps small cuts heal faster, and which protects irritated skin. Second, Zim's Crack Cream, which is formulated with arnica, an ingredient that contains thymol, a vasodilator that brings nourishing blood to the area to heal it.
